While the styling is highly polarizing, its no doubt the R33 Skyline is a better platform than the R32 it replaced. The cockpit is larger and boasts more premium materials and features. The chassis is more rigid, and the R33 Skyline is also noticeably more refined and feels like a modern car when behind the wheel. This wonderful 1996 GTS sedan is offered with an incredibly low 22k verified and documented miles. Featuring a nearly mint interior full of power accessories and a stout and sporty driveline, this Skyline would make for an ideal daily driver. Finished in a subtle Sonic Silver (KR4) the body is in good shape aside from some light scuffs and dings associated with normal use. The cabin is one of the nicest we have seen in recent memory. The view of the road ahead is clean and unobstructed and the dash is in good shape. It lacks any major damage and is fitted with dual SRS airbags for safety’s sake. The automatic climate system works as it should and pumps cold A/C into the cabin. Directly below is the OEM Nissan radio/TV infotainment unit, a rare factory option, and it works like a charm. It has a large, easy-to-read screen and even a remote control. The driver also receives an adjustable steering column for ultimate comfort, and standard power windows, locks, and mirrors. We wanted to note the power-folding function doesn’t work, but that’s a minor inconvenience. The upholstery is near mint and lacks and major rips, stains, or tears. The material in the door cards matches and ties the aesthetic together. The carpet and headliner look equally good and even the owner’s manual is still in the glovebox.
The driveline is a real gem, and this Type X model is powered by the silky smooth RB20E. The engine is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up quickly with a twist of the key. The 2.0L benefits from a new 12v battery we installed to ensure trouble free starting for years to come. Power is fed to the rear wheels through a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. The transmission makes good use of the horsepower and shifts seamlessly. Acceleration is adequate but admittedly this four-door isn’t going to win many quarter-mile drag races. The suspension is composed and can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse. The brakes are confident too, stopping this sedan without any worries. The wheels are all wrapped in brand new all-season Falken rubber at all four corners. The new tires quiet down the ride nicely and will deliver plenty of year-round grip for tens of thousands of miles to come. Don’t miss this incredibly clean Skyline sedan!
