Pre-purchase Car Inspection
Dear Customer
I have highlighted all the key words and semantically related words as requested. I don’t understand what else you require here.
Almost everyone knows that it is quite a risk to buy a used car. It is understandably exciting when looking at motor vehicles to become enthusiastic but don’t let your emotions get the better of you. Make a point of inspecting the vehicle condition before you decide to sign on the bottom line. Take the time to check whether the vehicle has been ASE certified. Importantly, get a pre purchase inspection done by an expert who has taken the time to check for flood damage. Avoid making any payments until these conditions have been met, especially if the motor vehicle is in another city. While a visual car inspection is advised, vehicle identification is more important to ensure you aren’t buying a stolen car.
Why is a PPI recommended? Getting a pre-purchase inspection report (PPI) done prior to signing on the bottom line is a viable option, before making payment and finalizing the sale. having a mechanic inspecting the car to evaluate its condition is vital to check for safety aspects, mechanical status and its cosmetic status. All of these checks will protect you as the potential buyer from making a purchase that you may later regret.
Who is a PPI expert? The right expert to conduct this pre-inspection vehicle evaluation when considering purchasing a used vehicle will be a qualified, certified automotive technician or mechanic who is familiar with the make and model of the car you’re interested in purchasing. The purpose of obtaining a PPI is to reveal potential faults that may be a safety risk or result in financial losses for the buyer down the road.
When is a PPI suggested? The PPI is advised particularly when the vehicle does not come with a warranty, and specifically when the buyer is trying to purchase a vehicle that is available in another city. In the absence of a valid warranty, all the responsibility of the purchase falls on the buyer. This means the buyer will be solely liable for payment of any breakdowns or the fixing of any faults associated with the vehicle purchased. Going to the effort of obtaining a valid PPI is financially viable.
Car purchase from a distance. If the vehicle is in a different city, the buyer won’t be able to take it for a test drive. This is the right time to make a few phone calls to get an expert to do a PPI on your behalf. You can ask the seller to take it to the mechanic’s business for the necessary testing to be done. The PPI report generated by the expert will provide the warranty that the buyer needs for peace of mind when purchasing a used vehicle from a distance.
Where can the buyer arrange to have a PPI done? Any automotive technician or qualified mechanic who is familiar with the car you want to buy, is suitable to conduct the PPI. There are businesses that focus on providing carfax reports, and are available to make vehicle inspections anywhere you need them to. Simply do an internet search to look for “pre-purchase inspection” to find the right expert for your needs. Local car dealerships or specialty car businesses are also available to conduct in-depth PPIs on your behalf.
What will the PPI cover? Currently there is no standardization for what categories will be covered by the PPI. Typically, the buyer can expect the level of inspection to be conducted that has been paid for. In other words, typical visual inspections will entail inspecting the undercarriage of the vehicle while on a hydraulic lift. Oil leaks and broken parts will be looked for. A road test will be done in a more detailed inspection to determine the safety of steering and brakes. A high-level inspection will involve engine compression checks and a computerized engine analysis.
PPI costs and who is responsible for this? If the buyer wants a PPI done, he or she is responsible for payment. The basic PPI will be between $100 and $200. This price will cover a basic safety and mechanical inspection together with a test drive. When more thorough test drives are required, this price will double, depending on the cost of the diagnostic tests provided by the expert.
In the majority of cases the PPI is expected to be done prior to completion of the sale. In other instances, the pre-purchase car inspection will be a buyer condition for the sale to go through. The seller can use a pre-purchase car inspection that highlights a clean report as a strong selling tool, whereas the opposite will likely discourage a sale. For the sake of fairness, both parties should agree to the circumstances of the inspection before proceeding. To find out more, arrange to have your pre-purchase car inspection done now.
Hey, my name is Dan. I used to work at the biggest dealership in the country and now I teach. Fine folks like you how not to get f•••ed when buying their car. Now, in this video, I want to talk to you about PBI pre-purchase inspection and how important it is to do pre-purchased inspection. Doesn’t matter how much you liked the dealership, how much you liked a salesman, how much you liked a car, or who you’re buying from or how trustworthy that person looks. Let’s be honest, we don’t have X-ray vision. We don’t have a spiritual connection to their car. We can’t tell what’s going on with the car. Yes, we can listen to the engine. Yes, we can feel the transmission. Yes, we can feel the clutch. If it’s a manual transmission. Yes, we can kick the car. Shake the car. Little do all sorts of things. But the bottom line is, you can not read the computers. You cannot tell if there is major problems going on with the car. Oh, you have a oh, BD 2 scanner that you bought for twenty seven dollars at Wal-Mart. Well, can your OPD to scan and tell me if the miles have been rolled back? If the car was flooded? If the warning lights have been disconnected. If the codes have been canceled. If the VIN has been replaced. What kind of condition transmission is in? What kind of condition differential is in? Oh, and last but not least, why the tires on the car are worn differently? Well, because the car needs alignment. Excellent observation. Good, sir. And why does that car need alignment? Because it has never been done, because the car hit a pothole or because the car was in an accident.
In new needs, a new control arm, which could be three, five, seven hundred dollars. Do you want to pay one hundred fifty dollars for pre-purchase inspection? Or do you want to pay $400 to get yourself a new control arm? It’s all up to you. There is a lot of different videos on YouTube and they watched a lot of them on how to do pre-purchase inspection. But the most important thing that they don’t tell you is you’re not going to be able to find the most expensive problems without a professional computer. This stupid old V.D. to scanner that everybody is raving about, it’s useless. I mean, the reason you don’t have one because you don’t know how to use one, because you need to know how to read the codes to use one. It’s not just a tool. You have to know how to use the tool. And if you don’t know how to use the tool, what’s the point of even spending that $50? All my customers that I work with after we find them a car, after we agree on the price with the dealership, I tell them, spend hundred fifty dollars. Get this thing peopIe, I’d get it inspected. I don’t I don’t have X-ray vision. I can’t see the car. Even if I was there, I can’t tell you if the miles are rolled back, you would not believe how many cars have rolled back miles. It’s so easy to do. This is how easy it is to do.
Somebody buys a car with one hundred thousand miles. Last miles on the Carfax is fifty five thousand miles sold. They’ll roll back the miles to sixty or sixty two thousand miles. So it looks like the car was driven somewhat, but mostly a garage keeper. And they’ll tell you here. This car was just a garage keeper, just sitting in the garage. And dealerships will do this and private parties will do this. It’s all the same. You can’t trust anyone. You have to only trust somebody that’s willing to put their money on the line. And when you are getting your car pre-purchase inspected, the shop that’s inspected, they’re putting their name, their reputation, their money on the line, because if they tell you, hey, the transmission is fine, the miles are what they’re supposed to be. The clutch is fine. The differential is fine. And six months later, your training goes out or three months later you have a problem with your clutch or two months later you have a oil leak going on with the engine. You can go back to that shop until what the f••• you told me there is not a problem. And now there is a problem. What’s going on? Either you didn’t check it or you did check it and you lied to me. Which one is it? In both scenarios, they’re f•••ed. That’s the bottom line, because they’re insured.
They’re bonded. It’s their best interests to give you one hundred percent accuracy on the car. In fact, they’re going to go into details as much as they can because they want to repair that car for them. That’s a potential car that they can repair. They have every reason to find problems with the car and see if this car is worth repairing or not. Pre-Purchase inspection, $150 that you’re going to spend is the best money that you’re going to spend. I rather spend hundred fifty dollars on pre-purchase inspection than on the Carfax. I mean, even drove car facts. It’s something you can get for $5 on eBay. But still, pre-purchase inspection is probably one of the best money you’re going to be able to spend on the car. Let’s say the car has problems with it. You’re either going to have leverage with the dealership or the person to negotiate up the price if you really like it, or if you don’t want to spend time repairing that car, very simply, you say goodbye to Dad’s car and you have another car that’s lined up and ready to go for another pre-purchased inspection. I have never seen anybody go to more than two or three cars with pre-purchase inspection. One car is bad. Second car. They didn’t like a third car is perfect. How much are you going to spend? Three.
Four hundred dollars on pre-purchase inspection. That’s nothing, because when I work with customers, the deals that I find them there, thousands of dollars less than what everybody else is offering. So this three hundred dollars. This hundred fifty dollars is nothing in the big scheme of things. In big picture that’s nothing because they’re saving thousands and thousands of dollars. And that’s what I show you in my course. When you are going to be looking for a car and you’re going to be picking out the best car when you’re going to be negotiating the best price with the dealership over the phone. Not going to a dealership, but going to your e mail and emailing dealerships, calling dealerships, texting dealerships. Don’t be going to every single dealership. You will have a limited time. You don’t have unlimited gas to be driving around town. Plus, you’re going to be able to find better cars around the country, not just in your city. So how do you inspect a car if the car is across the country? Easy. First, you agree to buy a car contingent that the pre-purchase inspection is going to be good. That person or the dealership takes the car to the shop of your choosing, not their choosing. You choose the shop. You choose another dealership that does pre-purchase inspection. They’ll bring the car over there.
Del, inspect it and tell you what’s going on with it. Or you can told the car if the person is not willing to drive it or the dealership is not willing to take it. I mean, what are you gonna spend another 80 dollars? Another $80 to tow a car? That’s nothing. What if the car has five thousand dollars worth of problems? Do you want to spend one hundred twenty one hundred thirty hundred forty dollars and pre-purchase inspection and eighty dollars on towing? Or do you want to buy new parts? A new labor? Come on, let’s get real. You trying to save three hundred dollars in the car is nothing. Most important thing you can do is do good quality pre-purchase inspection and make sure they always check for rollback miles cancelled calls, disconnected warning lights missing airbags flooded car replaced. Vigne replaced computer. That is one of the most important things you can do because the cars are so sophisticated these days, you have to do it.
