The R32 Nissan Skyline is a timeless chassis that has been battle-proven in racing, drifting, and high-speed highway runs on the Wangan. While once plentiful on Japanese and U.S shores, the availability of clean imported R32’s has seriously dwindled within the last year, leaving only a few truly good examples up for sale at any given time. Luckily, this 1993 R32 is still in good shape and is a turn-key ready sport coupe that’s perfect for its next owner to modify or keep as-is! While the GTS-T model came optioned from the factory with Nissan’s stout RB20DET 2.0 turbo, this particular example is hiding a ferocious secret under its hood, an RB26DETT donated by none other than the legendary R32 Skyline GTR. Better yet, this vehicle has retained the GTST’s original RWD layout, offering both weight savings and (responsible) tire spinning fun! The exterior is finished in a respray of one of Nissan’s most iconic paint colors, Bayside Blue, most notably featured on the R34 GTR. A few choice modifications have been made to enhance the aesthetics of this R32 without being too over the top. The factory steel hood has been replaced with a lightweight fiberglass unit, vented to help heat escape the engine bay. The front bumper, fenders, side skirts, NISMO extensions, and trunk are all genuine R32 GTR, and NISMO rear bumper spats help polish off the iconic GTR inspired styling on this Skyline. 6 spoke wheels on the R32 chassis is a timeless combination that’s hard to beat, a set of gold Advan RG2 wheels replace the drab OEM alloys and look great against the Bayside blue paintwork. The interior is quite clean as well. The lackluster OEM driver’s seat was replaced with a well bolstered reclining bride unit, a period correct seat that looks fitting in this classic 90’s interior. R32’s were never really known for their interior quality. Although this one looks to have been kept quite well, the dash seems to have fallen victim to the infamous R32 dash bubble. All other interior upholstery and plastics have managed to survive the test of time, and all buttons and switches work as expected, down to the digital automatic climate control. A Greddy boost gauge and exhaust temperature gauge were added to help monitor engine vitals, and a Greddy electronic boost controller helps regulate boost levels on the behemoth turbo under the hood. The OEM instrument cluster is intact and displays just 83,444 km. Equating to only 51,849 verified miles, this R32 has clearly been babied and Mechanically, this car runs superb. Pop the hood and you’ll see that the RB26DETT has already been decently modified with some choice upgrades that’ll certainly throw you back in the seat. The pesky stock twin turbos were removed and instead replaced with a sizable, externally gated single turbocharger and an HKS intake and front mount intercooler help it breathe to the best of its ability. The 2.6l I6 fires right up and feels incredibly strong as it pulls through the powerband. An aftermarket intake has been added, which frees up the restrictive airbox and really brings out the intoxicating turbo whoosh. A full header back exhaust system, with an HKS super drager catback was installed in Japan, and really accentuates the beautiful inline 6 sound without being too overbearing. This engine setup is running off a conservatively tuned HKS F Con V ECU with no issues or hiccups. Shifts through the 5-speed manual transmission are smooth and direct, and an aftermarket twin disc clutch helps deliver power to the rear wheels with ease. Continuing with the HKS theme, HKS Hipermax coilovers get rid of some of the pesky stock wheel gap and help this Skyline excel in backroad twists and turns. For those looking to take this car to the dragstrip, a line lock kit has been equipped to give the driver ultimate burnout control! This is one seriously modified R32 that is turn key and ready to rip, if you’re looking for a well kept Skyline ready to attack the street or the strip, look no further than this beautiful blue GTST.
