It’s no surprise anymore. The Nissan Skyline is not an uncommon sight to see on US roads. What was once considered unobtanium to the US market is now one of the most popular tuner cars on the road, with hordes of this legendary JDM sports car crossing over the ocean daily to deliver enthusiasts with the Japanese icon they’ve always dreamed of. The R33 GTS25T is undoubtedly a fan favorite amongst Nissan enthusiasts. With a stout and powerful RB25DET turbocharged I6 and precise handling dynamics the R33 is one of the best driving classic JDM cars you can still get at a relatively affordable price. This particular 1995 year model was optioned from the factory in desirable “Type M” trim with the factory 5 speed manual transmission, and features a plethora of unique aftermarket body modifications sure to stand out on the streets or at the shows! The exterior is finished in a beautiful coat of Nissan QM1 cloud white. Due to the full body kit we can not verify that this paint is original, but all panels match and appear to have been finished professionally. Retro JDM heads will notice and appreciate the complete Abflug aero on this Skyline. The front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper spats are all genuine Abflug and give this R33 a true “Fast and Furious” look. The rear wing is Veilside and is a tasteful complement to the rest of the aero. Rounding off the exterior are a classy set of LED tail lights. The OEM 5 spoke wheels were removed in favor of a period correct set of 3 piece Blitz Technospeed wheels in a clean gold with polished lip finish, a perfect complement to the retro styling of this classic Skyline. Take one look at the interior of this R33 and you’ll instantly notice that the previous owner took great care of this vehicle. The OEM seats were reupholstered in a custom stitched red leather which works surprisingly well with the rest of the vehicle. The dash plastics are in excellent shape with no cracking or major peeling, a common issue that plagues most R33 Skylines and other classic Nissans. All buttons and switches work as expected and the A/C blows ice cold. The OEM instrument cluster is fully functional and displays just 120,315 verified km (74k miles!) A few modifications have been made to assist the driver, mainly an A-pillar gauge pod, complete with a glowshift air fuel ratio gauge and Apexi boost gauge (non functional). An electronic boost controller has been mounted below the steering column and gives the driver full control over the turbocharger’s performance. Turn the key and the RB25DET engine fires up without hesitation. Pop the hood and purists will be pleased to see that this one has not been extensively modified at all. Only a few choice modifications accompany this turbocharged powerhouse, namely an Apexi intake, ARC front mount intercooler, and aftermarket catback exhaust system. Boost comes on strong and the vehicle pulls smoothy to redline with no hesitations or hiccups. The transmission engages all 5 gears smoothly without any grinds or pop outs. We have always felt that the R33 is one of the more daily driveable skylines as overall driving dynamics are surprisingly smooth and refined. This skyline tears up the corners thanks to a set of new BC racing coilovers and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. If you’re looking for a unique, well kept R33 sure to reliably tear up the highways for years to come, this retro rad Skyline is an unbeatable option.
