Many feel Honda’s heyday was during the 1990s and it’s easy to see why. The brand was churning out bread and butter sedans like this 1994 CD4 Honda Accord. This lovable five-seat sedan features decent ergonomics, class-leading efficiency, and a bulletproof driveline. Finished in a classic Sebring Silver Metallic (NH552M) the body is in good shape aside from some minor dings and scuffs associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 54k verified and documented miles, this recently serviced four-door would make for a reliable daily driver or unique weekend cruiser. For those who value dependability, low cost of ownership, and a timeless design, this fifth-generation Accord is a Japanese Classic!
The cabin is simple, spacious, and well equipped. The lack of a massive touchscreen and thick A-pillars is refreshing, and the driver is allowed to concentrate on the roadway ahead. The dash is in good shape and lacks any major imperfections such as cracking and distortion. Centrally mounted is a simple to use automatic climate control system. The A/C works as does the heat making this Honda perfectly suited for year-round use. The driver benefits from an adjustable steering column and electric windows, locks, and folding mirrors. All these work as advertised making daily use convenient. The seats are comfortable and upholstered in a light gray textured cloth. Aside from some minor staining they are in good nick and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards have the same light staining but are tightly upholstered and lack any other damage. The headliner and carpets are in fine condition and even the factory owner’s manual is still in the glovebox. We also wanted to note the radio is not working properly and will require a replacement. Still, at 25 years of age, it’s obvious this car has been cared for in a prior life.
Under the hood sits the F20B, which is one of Honda’s best powerplants of this era. Fresh off an oil and filter service it starts right up thanks to a new 12v battery we installed here in the shop. The four-banger idles confidently and is mated to an automatic transmission. The gearbox shifts seamlessly and sends power to the front wheels. The acceleration isn’t bad, and while this sedan isn’t going to win any drag races, it makes adequate power for daily use. It gets up to highways speeds smoothly and the Accord is geared properly for sustained freeway use here is the US. The suspension is composed and this Accord hardly has any squeaks or rattles to note. The power steering is light but on point and the brakes can stop the Accord with confidence. The wheels are all wrapped in new tires at all four corners. These all-season units will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and deliver premium year-round grip.
